Horse flies have invaded my favorite birding spot, so I have been spending my free time in my sister’s back yard. There has been a baby boom amongst the bird population there, and it has been lovely to watch the parent birds feeding the little ones. There is a gang of teenaged blue jays who eat all the food and talk too loud. A Carolina wren has built a nest under the deck. A pileated woodpecker family inhabits the back woods. Two pairs of ruby-throated hummingbirds fight over the sugar water feeder. The young tufted titmice crowd the chipping sparrow out of the natural bird bath created by a dip in a large boulder.
Nature helps me through each and every day. I hope you find something nourishing to help you through.
Hang in there, friend.
Love,
Michelle xoxo
